Well, yesterday was an unexpected day off due to either a stomach virus or food poisoning on Sunday. I felt like I probably could've run yesterday, but took the day off just to be safe. Needless to say, whatever I had was awful. I lost 6-8lbs in 24 hours. While losing weight is a runner's friend, this is not how I wanted to do it.
Just did an easy 7 miles at lunch. I felt really good, maybe it was the 6-8lbs I don't have anymore. This was also the first day on the new Lunartrainers. They felt really good. Also, I hooked up the heartrate monitor for the first time in a while. It's a useful tool that basically tells you how hard your body is working to run a certain pace (the lower your heartrate, the less energy you're using, and vice versa).

Tomorrow is the first Speedwork session of training, so that should be interesting. 2 x 1600 (mile repeats) at 5:33 pace.
Again, things are slow at work, so I was searching YouTube and found this footage of the 2009 Chicago Marathon. If you look closely, around 5:21 - 5:23 of the video you can see me run by in a grey sweatshirt, blue shorts, and a red cap.
