Great great weekend. Saturday couldn't have been better. Good weather, great football game, great friends, and my longest run since starting the blog.
Following the football game Saturday there were a couple of hours of downtime before anyone in our group thought they would be ready for dinner. Fortunately Ryan was in town and saw this as the perfect opportunity to get in a run.
I can't describe what a difference having a running partner made. I really didn't begin to focus on the distance until around mile 5. It also helps to have an experienced runner who can establish a comfortable pace.
The run wasn't without a few minor events. There was the drunk guy urinating in the parking lot around mile 3. Then there were the taunts and cheers from the drunks in the junction, still celebrating the Bulldogs upset win over #25 Mississippi (one of the setbacks of having campus as your track).
Followed up the run with some good Mexican food and a good night out with old friends, couldn't ask for a better fall Saturday.
