Tuesday, November 10, 2009 - Ryan

Day 2 of RNR Mardi Gras Marathon training called for the same workout as yesterday, an Easy Run: 7 miles @ 7:07/min pace. Looking at the SmartCoach training schedule from Runner's World, each week contains 3 Easy Runs (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday), 1 Speedwork / Tempo (Wednesday) and one Long Run (Saturday). I did the same route today due to it's convenience, but I'll be hitting Spillway Road tomorrow for my Tempo. There were no Garmin or gum issues today, so the run was pretty smooth.

I'm taking recovery / rest days much more seriously this time around. I really didn't recover that well when training for 2009 Chicago. This time, I'm putting more focus into resting not only on off days, but trying to recover better on the days I run (i.e. cold bath after each run, eating correctly after each run, etc.). I'm hoping this will not only make me recover faster / stronger, but also enable me to train harder.

The auction for my shoes on eBay ends today so hopefully I'll be able to pick them up for under $50 including shipping (brand new they are $100).
