I did my last long run before the Blues Marathon yesterday. I tried a different route in Madison to mix things up. I was happy with the route, the pace (7:02/mile), and my effort (83% max).

However, the top of my right foot was / is still a little sore. Several people have told me this is a result of my big toe doing too much work, and to loosen my shoes around the bottom of my foot. I'll give that a try this week and see how it feels. During the run, I tried the Vanilla Gingerbread Gu (Leanna got that for my for Christmas), and I must say that I'm a fan. Tasted great. This week will be a series of easy runs, which I'm looking forward to. I might work a few quick miles in, but nothing too bad. I'd like to get around 30-35 easy miles in this week.
